Twenty-six as a title is symbolic of the journey Annie has taken in making this book, it captures her relationship with language, symbolism and time. Annie has a difficult and traumatic relationship with words, and in formulating this book, it feels like she has taken hold of them. Art gives Annie a sense of containment and self-awareness, connecting her internal and external worlds. This connection is highlighted in the book and, like for Annie, at times may seem quite blurred.
